Yalmeh carpet history is rooted in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province of Iran, where the Yalameh tribe, a subtribe of the Lori people, has been weaving them since at least the second quarter of the twentieth century. 

These carpets are known for their vibrant colors, geometric designs, and often feature diamond shapes, and are woven on vertical looms using high-quality wool.
